There are two ways to take part in the project: as a participant or as a supporter.
A participant agrees to be featured in a in-depth documentary. These stories take 3 to 8 days on location to be crafted and include a video interview. I live with the participants for a few days to really understand their life and passions. Shadowing participants allows me to take great portraiture and film the proper B-roll to tell participants' stories in a seamless way.
A supporter hosts the producer for a night or two to help SignMyCar! go where it needs to go. Supporters are featured in a short story on the blog.
Both participants and supporters are acknowledged on our thank you page.
Participants sign the car with colorful acrylic paint while supporters sign with black sharpies. This allows readers to visually differentiate the interactive signatures from the others.
Underage children can not take part in SignMyCar!. However they are allowed to sign next to their parents' signature and will be featured in their parent's story. A parental Permission for Photography is required in this case.
Belgian and International Clubs are welcomed to organize "car signing" events. SignMyCar! is great at bringing people together. In case of a group signing, everyone will sign with a sharpie on a designed spot on the car. Clubs need to take note that heavy drinking activities are not compatible with the principles of SignMyCar! Heavily intoxicated individuals are not permitted to sign and will be denied access to the car.
